But the facts say the NSX will blow it away when the time comes for its release. That is less competition and more focus on the GT-R. The fact that the new NSX was delayed is a good thing for when it comes to tuning the GT-R. Keep an open mind about it though, the GT-R won't beat everything, It won't beat several things actually. We all here love the GT-R with all of our passion. So like you said, people with money will tune their cars, at least at first.ĭon't get cocky about the GT-R either. Which is why one of their R34's has a VQ in it. It will probably be a good year or so before we see after market parts for the GT-R, or maybe even right away? From what I can tell Top Secret in the only tuner company that has started tuning the VQ engines at an early stage and they did this for the GT-R alone. Thanks to people from tuner companies such as Top Secret which have already started testing the VQ engines. They said it at Goodwood, and we know eventually the hard will become easy. So we would have to see a race to see the results.Īnother thing we all have to keep in mind is they did say this car will be hard to tune. It also pulls somewhat quick times around circuits as well. The Vette will always be faster then most stock cars. The GT-R is a circuit car meant for the track, while the Vette is meant for straight line drag races. But stock, I doubt the GT-R will beat the Z06 or Z07. It has already beat the 911 so that’s good. Maybe in a circuit race, not sure though. Stock GT-R won't even compare to the new Z07 in a straight line. I think it's about time we get the killer legacy. You can say, hey my evo x can beat your corvette and they'll scoff "it's tuned" but not the GTR, it'll be a stock killer car something I always wanted from the jp market.Ī killer stock car equals a killer legacyĪ killer tuned car equals a skilled tuner or a person with money to kill to have someone tune it for him. Now the Evo X is great and maybe if you put the money in you save on not buying a GTR over the evo x you can get the same performance but it will still be a tuner car. Now the GTR is going to be one of the first truly super cars from japan that excels in all these categories saying, "hey porsche hey vette, I can hang too." And the GTR truly deserves to be the first one too, let the new NSX follow, let the new toyota ft come afterwards let them try but the GTR is known to be the best of the best of japanese autoracing and is issuing in a new era of japanese cars. Maybe it was because of the japanese way of taxing their cars or because of the "gentlemen" agreement to keep their hp under 300 but that was the truth. You know, japanese cars always have been known to be "tuner" cars because despite their looks and great handling powerwise they always came up short compared to other markets leaving it up to the buyer to increase the power to get the best out of the performance.
